Title: Phase conjugate laser

Abstract

This patent describes a laser. It comprises a multiple element laser diode in an external resonant cavity, the laser diode capable of multimode operation, means for selecting a single mode of operation within the cavity, and a phase conjugating reflector positioned within the resonant cavity, whereby the phase conjugating reflector stabilizes the selected mode of operation above a threshold of laser operation.
