Status of liquid droplet radiator systems analysis techniques

This paper presents the status of several efforts aimed at developing analysis and design tests for liquid droplet radiators (LDRs). A variable metric optimizer, which is being developed to merge with the model, increases the versatility of the LDR system analysis code and allows the determination of maximum power per unit mass. A developmental thermal radiation model that will be incorporated into the systems analysis. The model provides temperature histories and distributions within the sheet as the droplets travel from generator to collector.
