Emissions from milling operations must be controlled so that all airborne effluent releases are reduced to levels as low as is reasonably achievable. An important means of accomplishing this is by means of emission control devices in mill ventilation systems. The design and the testing, operating, and maintenance procedures for these emission control devices should ensure that these devices are operating consistently near peak operational efficiency. The purpose of this report is to provide information to applicants and licensees regarding the NRC staff's plans for using this regulatory guide. 8 refs.
