Azimuthal correlations and dibaryon states in the reaction /sup 4/Hep. -->. dppn
We have analyzed the behavior of correlations of pairs of nucleons in their relative azimuthal angles in the reaction /sup 4/Hep..-->..dppn. The experiment was performed in the synchrophasotron at the High Energy Laboratory of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research by means of the 100-cm hydrogen bubble chamber. It is shown that the reaction studied occurs mainly through a double interaction. The difference obtained in the behavior of the correlations in the direct channel of this reaction and in the channel with charge exchange is in good agreement with the assumption of an important role of the ..delta../sub 3,3/N interaction. The enhancement of the correlation in the region of the peaks in the effective mass of the two-proton system at M = 2035 and 2137 MeV/c/sup 2/ argues in favor of dibaryon states.
