This paper reports on correct assessments for property evaluations and site appraisals that are critical to property transfers and remedial plans. Geostatistical methods have already begun to revolutionize approaches to determining extents and levels of contamination, probabilities of contaminant existence, volumetrics, aquifer restoration requirements and compliance issues. The promise of computerized geostatistical methods is the possibility of more objective and quantifiable decision-making by bankers, regulators and property buyers.
