We present a theoretical estimate for the inclusive photon energy spectrum in direct decays of [ital B]-mesons taking into account both the charged current (CC) and flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) processes. It is shown that the various components in the inclusive spectrum can in principle be disentangled. In particular, the high energy part of the photon energy spectrum is dominated by the electromagnetic penguins. Its measurement could provide the first direct determination of the CKM matrix element [vert bar][ital V][sub [ital ts]][vert bar]. Furthermore the theoretical uncertainties in the FCNC processes are analyzed.
