This book contains papers presented at the Twentieth International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment. The meeting was intended to promote international cooperation in research, development and application of remote sensing technology, and to stimulate an exchange of information of all aspects of this multidisciplinary field. Presentations contained herein include those concerned with the application of data collection, analysis and methodology of global environmental monitoring and research, information systems for resource management, desertification, African famine and early warning, geology and mineral resources, forestry, and rangeland resources, hydrology and water resources, ocean and coastal applications, and earth observation systems for resource and environmental assessment.
