A wind turbine is disclosed, comprising a rotor mounted in a housing, aero-foil blades on the rotor extending in cantilever fashion forwardly of the rotor to be parallel to the axis of the rotor. The blades carry at their free ends a rotatable fairing of aero-foil section so that the blades are situated at the center of lift of the aero-foil section so that the air flows through the blades to the area of lower air pressure.
