Excitation systems have been supplied on turbine-generators with response ratios from 0.5 to 3.5, some with high initial response voltage characteristics. Tests on brushless excitation systems have shown that the new model features for alternator-rectifier excitation systems described in this paper provide a good representation of the actual response. Such tests, along with an examination of the new model structures, are presented in this paper. 4 refs.
