Programmatic equipment grant. Final report
The referenced grant was received by the State of California, Office of Planning and Research, Office of Appropriate Technology (OAT) in January 1983. Its purpose was to transfer a surplus wind powered generator from the US Department of Energy to the State of California, in furtherance of research and development activities associated with the Federal Wind Energy program. The proposal accepted was submitted by the Desert Studies Consortium of California State University, Fullerton. This proposal is attached. OAT entered into a contractual agreement with California State University, Fullerton in February 1983. Under the terms of this agreement (which is attached) the University agreed to accept the equipment for demonstration use. The generator was installed on a 30 foot tower at the Desert Studies Center in early 1986 and will be placed into full operation in the fall of 1986. At the present time, it appears to be in operational condition and ready for use. The report of the Desert Studies Consortium is attached.
