Title: Big ones needed to 'sweeten the pot'

Up to the present, there has been little encouragement outside the 20-mile-wide, 60-mile-long producing western in Northeastern Utah and south-trend Wyoming. There is, however, a lot of real estate left to explore and a number of companies remain aggressive in the search. Within the Utah-Wyoming Fairway there still is a considerable amount of work to do in and around established field areas. The emphasis is on exploration and development drilling from Pineview Field in Summit County, Utah to the Glasscock Hollow area in Uinta County, Wyoming. In early August, there were eleven drillings rigs at work in Anschutz Ranch East Field, including two drilling for The Anschutz Corp. in the east lobe of the field, one drilling for Champlin Petroleum in the southern portion of the west lobe, and eight rigs were drilling for Amoco Production Co.
