The crystal properties of a fiber largely affect its processability, dyeability, and mechanical properties. In this paper, the results show that the crystal properties of modacrylic fiber are mainly influenced by the spinning condition. From x-ray characterization, modacrylic fibers contain a crystal at approximately 2 {theta} = 17{degrees} or two crystals at approximately 2 {theta} = 17{degrees} and 13{degrees}, depending on the spinning conditions. 5 refs., 6 figs., 4 tabs.
