A step-by-step approach to energy conservation: Setting practical, cost-effective targets

Techniques for identifying and sustaining long-term energy cost savings are outlined. A guideline is provided for selecting appropriate targets for energy conservation based primarily on process considerations. The analysis techniques described are benchmarking, monitoring and targeting, process modeling, pinch analysis and advanced controls utilization. Two brief case studies are provided.
