Unusual LF radio absorption events during a major meteor shower

Journal Article · · Journal of Geophysical Research
During the period of the major meteor shower, Perseids, certain peculiar long-duration LF radio absorption events were observed at Calcutta that were indicative of the formation of significant meteor ionization below the E region reflection level involved. Some of the interesting results obtained from an analysis of the records of 1972 are presented.
