Title: Test Evaluation of a Reduced-Voltage Induction Motor Controller.

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:43778

This project was designed to test the performance of a motor controller called the ``Electro Guard`` that was distributed by Conservation Products Manufacturing. This motor controller was marketed as a new generation motor controller that saves electric energy by reducing voltage to match motor load and to improve power factor. This project included laboratory testing and had the option of field demonstrations to evaluate energy savings and cost effectiveness, equipment stability and reliability, appropriate applications, level of induced harmonic currents, maintenance soft start benefits, and potential regional electrical energy savings.
