The meteorological monitoring program at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) consists of four main components: measurements, analysis, modeling, and data management. Measurements are conducted continuously across a network of towers and other measurement stations. The current network includes four meteorological towers on the Pajarito Plateau, one tower in Los Alamos Canyon, three additional precipitation stations, and one monostatic Doppler SODAR. The towers on the plateau range in height from 46 to 92 m, and the canyon tower is 23 m high. The mean spacing of the plateau towers is {approximately}7 km, so potential sources are never more than 3.5 km from a wind measurement site.
