Lubrication requirements have become more complex. Also, as a result of automation, in both equipment and instruments, specialty greases are now required for lubrication. In particular, electric contacts are used for industrial machinery, automobiles and household electrical appliances. Much of the trouble in this equipment or these instruments can be attributed to faulty contacts. This paper addresses some characteristics of testing greases suitable for electric contacts in automobiles, and other similar applications.
