Electric steering drives replace hydraulic units

To reduce costs and improve vehicles, fork lift truck manufacturers are installing electrical steering drives instead of the usual mechanical and hydraulic systems in battery powered vehicles. Such electrical systems form a first step toward centralized vehicle control. Here the author describes how and why this is so.
