Diverless flowline connector makes three tie-ins in 1,000-ft water

This paper reviews a remote operated vehicle (ROV) by Sonsub International Inc. in the South China Sea. In March, 1996 this company completed three subsea diverless flowline tie-ins in over 1000 feet of water at the Amoco Orient Petroleum Co. operated Liuhua 11-1 field. The paper briefly describes the design and operation of the equipment and the methods actually used by the ROV to tie in the flow lines.
