In light of the requirements of China`s new environmental protection laws and regulations, the countermeasures adopted by the Chinese government to protect environment, and China`s Ninth Five-Year Plan (1996--2000) and Long-Term Target for the Year 2010, this paper describes the considerations and countermeasures that shall be taken in power plant construction and design.
