Diaryl ethers are good models for studying the influence of the solvent on the rate of destruction of the bridge bonds or the organic compounds in coal. This paper presents the results of the influence of solvents on the thermolysis rate of diaryl ethers. Solvents studied include tetralin, methylnaphthalene, a mixture of tetralin and 9,10-dihydroanthracene, and tetralin and anthracene.
