Probing hidden sectors via the U(1) portal

We discuss some of the motivations for considering a hidden dark matter sector, interating with the Standard Model via light mediators, and then focus on experimental probes of the vector portal--where a secluded U(1) gauge field in the hidden sector kinetically mixes with the photon - using fixed target neutrino experiments and B-factories.
