Hexagonal LaPO{sub 4} (rhabdophane) nanofibers are synthesized and characterized. TEM images show that the synthesized LaPO{sub 4} nanofibers are about 5-50 nm in diameter and up to several micrometers long. The morphologies of the product are strongly dependent on the pH value of the reaction solution.
