New test data on structural behavior of GRE pipe and joint systems

In order to generate essential information for design purposes, a series of tests on the structural behavior of Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) pipe and joint systems has now been completed. The testing program formed part of a research program, funded by the European Commission, the UK Health and Safety Executive and industry, on the development of using GRE piping systems offshore. The tests generated information on modulus of elasticity, axial strength and fatigue life for GRE pipe and joint systems. The test program and the results obtained are disseminated in this paper. The test program carries a certificate issued by Lloyd`s Register of Shipping for the suitability of GRE pipes tested.
