Title: Superconducting gap in tunneling spectra and pseudogap behavior of high-{Tc} cuprates

Superconducting gap magnitude 2{Delta}{sub o} is re-examined by STM/STS at T {much{underscore}lt} {Tc} in Bi2212. It is confirmed that 2{Delta}{sub o} increases monotonically with lowering the doping level p and almost scales with pseudogap temperature T* over the entire p range examined; 2 {Delta}{sub o}(p){approximately}4.3k{sub B}T*(p). Furthermore, it is shown that {Tc} is almost given by renormalizing 2{Delta}{sub o} or T* with p; k{sub B}{Tc}(p){proportional{underscore}to}p{Delta}{sub o}(p) or {Tc}(p){proportional{underscore}to}pT*(p).
