Simulation of the LAMPF linear accelerator

The results of an extensive study to simulate the performance of the LAMPF Iinac are discussed. Transport of both the H{sup +} and the H{sup {minus}} beams, starting in the low-energy beam transport sections at 750 keV and continuing through the drift-tube linac and the side-coupled linac up to 800 MeV have been simulated. The simulation results are compared with the measured beam emittance and profile data.
