Title: The dead layer investigation of the dE surface-barrier detectors

Conference ·
OSTI ID:199530

The special type dE surface-barrier detectors for the charged particles telescopes were performed by the Spase Research Institute, Moscow. The detectors were realized at the centre of silicon plate 20 mcm thick, 20 mm in diameter and by the creation of the surface-barrier structure of 6 mm in diameter. The main difficulty consists in the surface-barrier localization inside the area of the golden contact and in the creation of the clear geometrical boundaries of the response function. The technology of sach detectors has been working out at the Construction office {open_quotes}Physics-Sun,{close_quotes} Tashkent. The response function of several surface-barrier detectors have been investigated using the single ions acceleration method with A= 1-16, energy interval 20-300 keV; in particular: the position of the peak, FWHM, asymmetry, the dead-layer inhomogeneity and the boundary effects between the surface-barrier area and the clear silicon.
