For validation of ITER and the next generations of fusion reactors breeding zones feasibility the authors are preparing {open_quotes}RITM{close_quotes} experiment (in-Reactor Investigations of Tritium-breeding Models), based on SM-3 and IVV-2M reactor. The test program will be distinguished as: (1) functional tests (facilities of IVV-2M reactor); (2) life-time tests (facility of SM-3 reactor). Thermal and neutron parameters of the main possible positions of RITM channel in the reactors will be presented. Tritium system provides tritium oxides reduction on the channel outlet for ion-chamber on-line measurements, then tritium is oxidized and trapped on ceolites by industrial tritium trap unit, helium is decontaminated and stored. Helium for the channel inlet is prepared specially to provide required contents. Facility will be manufactured and assembled within 2 years. Tests can be started from the second half of 1996.
