This study would solve some problems, such as the electricity demand, especially in the Southern Bandung area, how big should the geothermal power plants to operate economically and what is the financial advantage to operate geothermal power plants. Three geothermal areas in Southern Bandung, which have reserve potential of 1467 MW are ready to be developed for private sector. In the 6th Five-Year Development Plan the total geothermal power will be installed is 135 MW. Other opportunities, from survey shows that additional power of more than 100 MW is needed to support industries during peak load time in Southern Bandung. The consumption forecasting was less than the actual growth on the market demand, because shortage of supply were covered by other sources for internal consumption.
