Successful cable fault locations depend as much on the fault locator`s knowledge and experience as on the quality or quantity of fault location equipment. This fault location reference manual provides practical technical material in the art and science of locating cable faults, including a description of common fault location instruments and principles of advanced fault location techniques used by utilities throughout the United States. A unique feature of this manual is the durable, removable fault location method summaries that field crews can insert into their personal field manuals. Also available in connection with this manual is expert system software, Fault Analysis and Underground Location Techniques (FAULT{reg_sign}), for use in selecting a fault location method.
