A study has been made of the extraction of lanthanides (III) (samarium-lutetium) and yttrium by mixtures of diisooctyl methylphosphonate and tri-n-butyl phosphate taken in various ratios (T = 298.15 K, pH 2). Extraction constants are estimated. Physicochemical and mathematical models have been proposed for the distribution of lanthanides (III), depending on the composition of the initial raw material, the total lanthanide concentration in the aqueous phase, and the extractant concentrations in the organic phase. Optimal conditions have been determined for separating yttrium-group concentrations by using mixed neutral organophosphorus extractants.
