Title: Materials Data on Nd2Mg by Materials Project

MgNd2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight Nd atoms. There are a spread of Mg–Nd bond distances ranging from 3.34–3.43 Å. There are two inequivalent Nd sites. In the first Nd site, Nd is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Mg and four equivalent Nd atoms. There are two shorter (3.74 Å) and two longer (3.76 Å) Nd–Nd bond lengths. In the second Nd site, Nd is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Mg and ten Nd atoms. There are four shorter (3.50 Å) and two longer (3.83 Å) Nd–Nd bond lengths.
