Materials Data on Rb3Mg by Materials Project
Rb3Mg crystallizes in the orthorhombic Imm2 space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Rb3Mg ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. there are two inequivalent Rb sites. In the first Rb site, Rb is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Mg atoms. Both Rb–Mg bond lengths are 4.00 Å. In the second Rb site, Rb is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Mg atoms. Both Rb–Mg bond lengths are 4.18 Å. Mg is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Rb atoms.
