Title: Materials Data on YbMg3 by Materials Project

Abstract

Mg3Yb crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Mg and four equivalent Yb atoms. There are two shorter (3.26 Å) and four longer (3.27 Å) Mg–Mg bond lengths. There are two shorter (3.37 Å) and two longer (3.42 Å) Mg–Yb bond lengths. Yb is bonded to twelve equivalent Mg atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing YbMg12 cuboctahedra.
