Materials Data on GdGa3 by Materials Project
GdGa3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Gd is bonded to twelve equivalent Ga atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and face-sharing GdGa12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.07 Å) and six longer (3.17 Å) Gd–Ga bond lengths. Ga is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Gd and six equivalent Ga atoms. There are two shorter (2.79 Å) and four longer (2.81 Å) Ga–Ga bond lengths.
