The Materials Project

TaF3 is alpha Rhenium trioxide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ta3+ is bonded to six equivalent F1- atoms to form corner-sharing TaF6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. All Ta–F bond lengths are 2.08 Å. F1- is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Ta3+ atoms.
