Materials Data on SrAl2 by Materials Project
SrAl2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Imma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve equivalent Al atoms. There are a spread of Sr–Al bond distances ranging from 3.26–3.59 Å. Al is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Sr and four equivalent Al atoms. There are a spread of Al–Al bond distances ranging from 2.77–2.87 Å.
