Materials Data on UGePt by Materials Project
UPtGe crystallizes in the orthorhombic Imm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent U sites. In the first U site, U is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Pt and six equivalent Ge atoms. There are two shorter (3.03 Å) and four longer (3.08 Å) U–Pt bond lengths. There are four shorter (3.10 Å) and two longer (3.25 Å) U–Ge bond lengths. In the second U site, U is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Pt and six equivalent Ge atoms. There are two shorter (3.14 Å) and four longer (3.17 Å) U–Pt bond lengths. All U–Ge bond lengths are 3.06 Å. Pt is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six U, one Pt, and three equivalent Ge atoms. The Pt–Pt bond length is 2.98 Å. There are two shorter (2.55 Å) and one longer (2.56 Å) Pt–Ge bond lengths. Ge is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to six U and three equivalent Pt atoms.
