Materials Data on CeIn3 by Materials Project
CeIn3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ce is bonded to twelve equivalent In atoms to form CeIn12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent CeIn12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent InCe4In8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent CeIn12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent InCe4In8 cuboctahedra. All Ce–In bond lengths are 3.33 Å. In is bonded to four equivalent Ce and eight equivalent In atoms to form distorted InCe4In8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent InCe4In8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent CeIn12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent InCe4In8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent CeIn12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent InCe4In8 cuboctahedra. All In–In bond lengths are 3.33 Å.
