It was recently shown that non-Abelian vortex strings supported in a version of four-dimensional N = 2 supersymmetric QCD become critical superstrings. In addition to four translational moduli, non-Abelian strings under consideration have six orientational and size moduli. Together they form a ten-dimensional target space required for a superstring to be critical, namely, the product of the flat four-dimensional space and conifold—a noncompact Calabi-Yau threefold. In this paper we report on further studies of low-lying closed string states that emerge in four dimensions and identify them as hadrons of our four-dimensional N = 2 QCD. Confinement in the Abelian-Higgs-Type Theories: String Picture and Field Correlators

Field correlators and the string representation are used as two complementary approaches for the description of confinement in the SU(N)-inspired dual Abelian-Higgs-type model. In the London limit of the simplest, SU(2)-inspired, model, bilocal electric field-strength correlators have been derived accounting for the contributions to these averages produced by closed dual strings. The Debye screening in the plasma of such strings yields a novel long-range interaction between points lying on the contour of the Wilson loop. Non-Abelian confinement in N=2 supersymmetric QCD: Duality and kinks on confining strings

Recently we observed a crossover transition (in the Fayet-Iliopoulos parameter) from weak to strong coupling in N=2 supersymmetric QCD with the U(N) gauge group and N{sub f}>N quark flavors. At strong coupling this theory can be described by a dual non-Abelian weakly coupled supersymmetric QCD with the dual gauge group U(N{sub f}-N) and N{sub f} light dyon flavors. Both theories support non-Abelian strings. We continue the study of confinement dynamics in these theories, in particular, metamorphoses of excitation spectra, from a different side.
