This paper applies the principles of sustainable economics, as set forth by Paul Hawken, to the California wine industry. Evidence of wide support within agriculture for sustainability, as well as the success of applications within California, provide a model by which other industries can approach the transition and full implementation of these new principles. A proposed application to a small winery in San Luis Obispo, California, is presented.
