  1. Nuclear Power Plant Dukovany (Czech Republic)

Shallow land low-activity wastes disposal from Czech power plants is situated on the site of the Dukovany NPP approximately 500 m eastward from the fourth unit. It consists of disposing systems, service building, surface roads and lawns. Most activities take place in the service building. It is a single-story building consisting of service rooms, personnel and material airlock, workshop and laboratory. In this building the received radwastes are kept in files and liquid sample analyses, maintenance and decontamination are carried out. The larger part of the building is classified as the controlled area. The whole depository is very large. It is composed of four rows of reinforced storage pits, arranged in double rows, each of them composed of seven separate dilatation parts. The base plate is made of concrete panels. Underneath there are four underlying layers. In this disposal facility only the waste from Dukovany NPP is deposited and in three years the waste from NPP Temelin will be added.
