OSTI ID:10157666
We discuss the design philosophy that should be applied to a nuclear facility using electronic, ``glass`` displays for presentation critical information. A brief history of and problems related to the use of electronic displays in the aviation industry is presented, along with the parallel history of the use of electronic displays in the nuclear power industry. These discussions are followed by a discussion of the display guidelines that should be considered to minimize human error, and maximize safety and performance.
