Project ID: P/ANL--001893
Project Title: Melt-Spun Ribbon for Giant Magnetoresistance Wire Sensor
Project Description: This new technology maturation project focuses on the development of cobalt-copper melt-spun ribbon for use in magnetic sensing utilizing its magnetoresistance property. The goal is to lower the magnetic field needed to generate a useful signal. The approach is to utilize mechanical processing methods to alter the magnetic grain structure. Techniques include swaging and annealing under a load to stretch the ribbons.
