Contributions to $Δ N_{eff}$ from the dark photon of $U (1)_{T 3 R}$

We consider the effect on early Universe cosmology of the dark photon associated with the gauging of U(1)_T3R, a symmetry group under which only right-handed Standard Model fermions transform nontrivially. We find that cosmological constraints on this scenario are qualitatively much more severe than on other well-studied cases of a new U(1) gauge group, because the dark photon couples to chiral fermions. In particular, the dark photon of U(1)_T3R is always produced and equilibrates in the early Universe, no matter how small the gauge coupling, unless the symmetry-breaking scale is extremely large. We consider a concise dark matter (DM) scenario in the context of a non-exotic U(1) extension of the Standard Model (SM), where a new U(1)_X gauge symmetry is introduced along with three generation of right-handed neutrinos (RHNs) and an SM gauge singlet Higgs field. Low- $p_{T}$ $e^{+} e^{-}$ Pair Production in $Au + Au$ Collisions at $\sqrt{s_{N N}} = 200 GeV$ and $U + U$ Collisions at $\sqrt{s_{N N}} = 193 GeV$ at STAR

We report first measurements of e⁺e^- pair production in the mass region 0.4 between 40 and 60 MeV/c. The absolute cross section of the excess depends weakly on centrality, while those from a theoretical model calculation incorporating an in-medium broadened ρ spectral function and radiation from a quark gluon plasma or hadronic cocktail contributions increase dramatically with an increasing number of participant nucleons. Model calculations of photon-photon interactions generated by the initial projectile and target nuclei describe the observed excess yields but fail to reproduce the pmore » $$\mathbb 2\atop{T}$$ distributions.« less

The sensitivity of the rare decays η^(') → π⁰γγ and η' → ηγγ to signatures of a leptophobic B boson in the MeV–GeV mass range is analyzed in this work. By adding an explicit B-boson resonance exchange, η → Bγ → π⁰γγ, to the Standard Model contributions from vector and scalar meson exchanges, and employing experimental data for the associated branching ratios, it allows us to improve the current constraints on the B-boson mass mB and coupling to Standard Model particles α_B.
