Duality symmetry of the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov equation: Reggeized gluons versus color dipoles

It is shown that the duality symmetry of the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) equation can be interpreted as a symmetry under rotation of the BFKL kernel in the transverse space from s channel (color-dipole model) to t channel (Reggeized gluon formulation). It is argued that the duality symmetry also holds in the nonforward case due to a very special structure of the nonforward BFKL kernel, which can be written as a sum of three forward BFKL kernels. The duality symmetry is established by identifying the dual coordinates with the transverse coordinates of a nondiagonal dipole scattered off the target.

Balitski{ital i}{breve char}-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov equation versus data from DESY HERA

The BFKL equation and the {ital k}{sub {ital T}}-factorization theorem are used to obtain predictions for {ital F}{sub 2} in the small Bjo/rken-{ital x} region over a wide range of {ital Q}{sup 2}. The dependence on the parameters, especially on those concerning the infrared region, is discussed. After a background fit to recent experimental data obtained at DESY HERA and at Fermilab (E665 experiment) we find that the predicted, almost {ital Q}{sup 2} independent BFKL slope {lambda}{approx_gt}0.5 appears to be too steep at lower {ital Q}{sup 2} values. Monte Carlo Solution to the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov Equation for Resummation in Perturbative QCD

A simple solution to the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) equation is obtained as a series in the number of real gluons emitted with transverse momentum greater than some small cutoff {mu}. This solution reveals physics inside the BFKL ladder which is hidden in the standard inclusive solution, and lends itself to a straightforward Monte Carlo implementation. With this approach one can explore new useful physical observables, which are shown to be independent of the cutoff {mu}. In addition, this approach allows the imposition of kinematic constraints (such as energy conservation) which are important at finite energies. Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov approximation versus [ital O]([alpha][sub [ital s]][sup 3]) corrections to large-rapidity dijet production

We examine dijet production at large rapidity intervals at Fermilab Tevatron energies by comparing an exact [ital scrO]([alpha][sub [ital s]][sup 3]) calculation with the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) approximation, which resums the leading powers of the rapidity interval [ital y] to all orders in [alpha][sub [ital s]]. Probing Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov Dynamics in the Dijet Cross Section at Large Rapidity Intervals in pp(bar sign) Collisions at {radical}(s) =1800 and 630 GeV

Inclusive dijet production at large pseudorapidity intervals ({delta}{eta} ) between the two jets has been suggested as a regime for observing Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) dynamics. We have measured the dijet cross section for large {delta}{eta} in pp(bar sign) collisions at {radical}(s)=1800 and 630 GeV using the D0 detector. The partonic cross section increases strongly with the size of {delta}{eta} . The observed growth is even stronger than expected on the basis of BFKL resummation in the leading logarithmic approximation.
