The electronic structural and phonon properties of Na_2-αM_αZrO₃ (M ¼ Li,K, α = ¼ 0.0,0.5,1.0,1.5,2.0) are investigated by first-principles density-functional theory and phonon dynamics. The thermodynamic properties of CO₂ absorption and desorption in these materials are also analyzed. With increasing doping level α, the binding energies of Na_2-αLi_αZrO₃ are increased while the binding energies of Na_2-α K_αZrO₃ are decreased to destabilize the structures. The calculated band structures and density of states also show that, at the same doping level, the doping sites play a significant role in the electronic properties. We report structurally tuned superconductivity in a K x Fe 2 - y Se 2 - z S z ( 0 ≤ z ≤ 2 ) phase diagram. Superconducting T c is suppressed as S is incorporated into the lattice, eventually vanishing at 80% of S. The magnetic and conductivity properties can be related to stoichiometry on a poorly occupied Fe1 site and the local environment of a nearly fully occupied Fe2 site. We report first measurements of e⁺e^- pair production in the mass region 0.4 between 40 and 60 MeV/c. The absolute cross section of the excess depends weakly on centrality, while those from a theoretical model calculation incorporating an in-medium broadened ρ spectral function and radiation from a quark gluon plasma or hadronic cocktail contributions increase dramatically with an increasing number of participant nucleons. Model calculations of photon-photon interactions generated by the initial projectile and target nuclei describe the observed excess yields but fail to reproduce the pmore » $$\mathbb 2\atop{T}$$ distributions.« less
