Title: Measurement of the Λ_b⁰ lifetime in the exclusive decay Λ_b⁰→J/ψΛ⁰ in pp̄ collisions at √s=1.96 TeV

Abstract

We measure the Λ⁰_b lifetime in the fully reconstructed decay Λ⁰_b→J/ψΛ⁰ using 10.4 fb⁻¹ of pp̄ collisions collected with the D0 detector at √s=1.96 TeV. The lifetime of the topologically similar decay channel B⁰→J/ψK⁰_S is also measured. We obtain τ(Λ⁰_b)=1.303±0.075(stat)±0.035(syst) ps and τ(B⁰)=1.508±0.025(stat)±0.043(syst) ps. Using these measurements, we determine the lifetime ratio of τ(Λ⁰_b)/τ(B⁰)=0.864±0.052(stat)±0.033(syst).

  abstractNote = {We measure the Λ⁰b lifetime in the fully reconstructed decay Λ⁰b→J/ψΛ⁰ using 10.4 fb⁻¹ of pp̄ collisions collected with the D0 detector at √s=1.96 TeV. The lifetime of the topologically similar decay channel B⁰→J/ψK⁰S is also measured. We obtain τ(Λ⁰b)=1.303±0.075(stat)±0.035(syst) ps and τ(B⁰)=1.508±0.025(stat)±0.043(syst) ps. Using these measurements, we determine the lifetime ratio of τ(Λ⁰b)/τ(B⁰)=0.864±0.052(stat)±0.033(syst).},

We measure the Λ⁰_b lifetime in the fully reconstructed decay Λ⁰_b → J/Ψ Λ⁰ using 10.4 fb^-1 of pp¯ collisions collected with the D0 detector at √s = 1.96 TeV. The lifetime of the topologically similar decay channel B⁰ → J/Ψ K_S⁰ is also measured. We obtain τ (Λ⁰_b) = 1.303 ± 0.075 (stat.) ± 0.035 (syst.) ps and τ (B⁰) = 1.508 ± 0.025 (stat.) ± 0.043 (syst.) ps. Using these measurements, we determine the lifetime ratio of τ (Δ_b⁰)/τ (B⁰) = 0.864 ± 0.052 (stat.) ± 0.033 (syst.).

In this work we report a measurement of the Λ⁰_b baryon lifetime using the exclusive decay Λ⁰_b→ J/ ΨΛ⁰. The B⁰ meson lifetime is also measured in the topologically similar channel B⁰→ J/ K⁰_S , which provides a crosscheck of the measurement procedure, and allows a direct determination of the ratio of the Λ⁰_b and the B⁰ lifetimes. We measure the {Lambda}{sub b}{sup 0} lifetime in the fully reconstructed decay {Lambda}{sub b}{sup 0} {yields} J/{psi}{Lambda}{sup 0} using 10.4 fb{sup -1} of p{bar p} collisions collected with the D0 detector at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV. The lifetime of the topologically similar decay channel B{sup 0} {yields} J/{psi}K{sub S}{sup 0} is also measured. Measurement of the CP-violating phase β_s^J/ψΦ in B_s⁰→J/ψΦ decays with the CDF II detector

We present a measurement of the CP-violating parameter β_s^J/ψΦ using approximately 6500 B⁰_s→J/ψΦ decays reconstructed with the CDF II detector in a sample of pp̄ collisions at √s=1.96 TeV corresponding to 5.2 fb⁻¹ integrated luminosity produced by the Tevatron collider at Fermilab. We find the CP-violating phase to be within the range β_s^J/ψΦϵ [0.02,0.52]∪[1.08,1.55] at 68% confidence level where the coverage property of the quoted interval is guaranteed using a frequentist statistical analysis.
