Crossover between weak antilocalization and weak localization in few-layer $W {Te}_{2}$ : Role of electron-electron interactions

We report electron transport studies in an encapsulated few-layer WTe₂ at low temperatures and high magnetic fields. The magnetoconductance reveals a temperature-induced crossover between weak antilocalization and weak localization in the quantum diffusive regime. Here we show that the crossover clearly manifests coexistence and competition among several characteristic lengths, including the dephasing length, the spin-flip length, and the mean free path. In addition, low-temperature conductance increases logarithmically with the increase of temperature indicating an interplay of electron-electron interaction (EEI) and spin-orbit coupling (SOC). Transition between Electron Localization and Antilocalization and Manifestation of the Berry Phase in Graphene on a SiC Surface

It is shown that the transport properties of graphitized silicon carbide are controlled by a surface graphene layer heavily doped with electrons. In weak magnetic fields and at low temperatures, a negative magnetoresistance is observed due to weak localization. A crossover in the magnetoresistance from weak localization to weak antilocalization (the latter is the manifestation of the isospin in graphene) is observed for the first time in samples of this kind at elevated temperatures. Magnetotunneling between two-dimensional GaAs/InAs electron systems in vertical resonant tunneling GaAs/InAs/AlAs heterostructures is studied. A new-type of singularity in the tunneling density of states, specifically a dip at the Fermi level, is found; this feature is drastically different from that observed previously for the case of tunneling between two-dimensional GaAs tunnel systems in terms of both the kind of functional dependence and the energy and temperature parameters. Resonance modulation of the intersubband electron-electron interaction in an AlSb({delta}-Te)/InAs/AsSb({delta}-Te) quantum well by magnetic field

The amplitude-frequency modulation of oscillations of the magnetoresistance of 2D electrons in an AlSb({delta}-Te)/InAs/AsSb({delta}-Te) quantum well is studied. In the dependence of the amplitude of the oscillations {delta}(1/B){sub T=const}, regions of negative Dingle temperature are observed. The anomalies in the dependence {delta}(1/B){sub T=const} are attributed to the fact that the quantizing magnetic field resonantly induces intersubband electron-electron interaction between the 2D electrons of the ground size-quantization subband and excited subband. The resonance fields B and the times corresponding to the collision-related broadening of the Landau levels are estimated.
