The tensor polarization {rho}{sub 20} of deuterons emitted in the {sup 1}H({sup 3}He,d)X reaction at 0 deg. in the laboratory system was measured at the Saturne National Laboratory in Saclay using the SPES-4 spectrometer with the HYPOM polarimeter located downstream from its focal plane. The momentum of the detected deuterons was kept fixed at 3.77 GeV/c, while the momentum of the {sup 3}He beam was varied from 4.60 to 5.66 GeV/c, thus providing a range of internal momenta k of the deuteron in {sup 3}He from 0 up to 0.4 GeV/c. The data obtained are compared with theoretical predictions.

The tensor analyzing power {ital T}{sub 20} for the reaction {ital d}{sup {up_arrow}}+{sup 12}C{r_arrow}{ital p}(0{degree})+{ital X} has been measured in the region of proton internal momenta {ital k} in light-cone dynamics up to 1 GeV/{ital c}. Measurements have been carried out at Dubna Synchrophasotron with polarized deuteron beam at deuteron momenta up to 9 GeV/{ital c}. When {ital k} increases the experimental values of {ital T}{sub 20} have a tendency to approach the value ({minus}0.3) obtained by the calculation based on the reduced nuclear amplitude method in which the quark degrees of freedom are taken into account.

Tensor A{sub yy} and vector A{sub y} analyzing powers in the {sup 1}H(d, d')X and {sup 12}C(d, d')X reactions at initial deuteron momenta of 9 GeV/c in the region of baryonic resonance excitation

The angular dependence of the tensor A{sub yy} and vector A{sub y} analyzing powers in the inelastic scattering of deuterons with a momentum of 9.0 GeV/c on hydrogen and carbon has been measured. The range of measurements corresponds to the baryonic resonance excitation with masses of {approx}2.2-2.6 GeV/c{sup 2}. The A{sub yy} data, being in good agreement with the previous results, demonstrate an approximate t scaling up to -1.5 (GeV/c){sup 2}. The large values of A{sub y} show a significant role of the spin-dependent part of the elementary amplitude of the NN {sup {yields}} NN* reaction. The results of themore »« less
